About Us

Who are we?


The Society of Christian Scholars Uganda (SCS-U) is a national chapter of the global Society of Christian Scholars (SCS) and its continental arm, SCS-Africa. We are a growing community of Christian academics dedicated to integrating faith with learning, teaching, and research in order to bring about holistic transformation in our institutions, disciplines, and society.

SCS-U exists to equip Christian scholars to live missionally within the academy—to influence their students, colleagues, and academic environments with the redemptive truth of Jesus Christ. We believe that universities are not just centers of knowledge, but also strategic platforms for shaping values, policy, culture, and future generations.

To see a growing community of Christian academics in Uganda and Africa who embody Christlike character, pursue academic excellence, and catalyze national transformation through missional scholarship.  

Our Mission

To equip Christian scholars to have a redemptive and missional influence in their academic disciplines, institutions, and society by fostering spiritual formation, intellectual excellence, and cultural engagement.
